ThruBit Logging Solutions

Designed to work with our patented Portal™ Bits, ThruBit’s^® unique deployment system is at the heart of our ability to deliver high-quality logging data in any application on the first try, virtually every time. We deploy small-diameter logging tools within the protection of the drillstring using the following components:

ThruBit^® Running Tool

ThruBit’s running hardware deploys powerful, compact logging tools downhole. During memory operation, the ThruBit^® logging tools are suspended from the Portal™ Bit using the ThruBit^® Hang-off Device to enable disconnection of the wireline.

ThruBit^® Hang-Off Device:

Required for memory logging configurations, the ThruBit^® Hang-Off Device:

• Allows a secure suspension of logging tools below the Portal™ Bit
• Provides circulation capability for well control
• Run in conjunction with wireline release tool, to axially place and secure tools for logging below the BHA

ThruBit^® Latch Mechanism

Activated by a specifically designed running tool that attaches to the internal latch, The ThruBit^® Latch Mechanism allows a clean release from the Portal™ Bit. The running tool and logging tools then pass out of the bit into the openhole for log data acquisition.

ThruBit^® Float Valve: Optional

The optional ThruBit^® Float Valve allows the passage of downhole tools in either direction. The valve:

• Maintains drillstring ID
• Prevents debris entry into drillstring from the openhole
• Acts as a landing point for single-shot survey tool
